MinnesotaCare (Archive)

MinnesotaCare (MCRE) is a health care program that provides coverage for both families with children and adults without children. Enrollees must pay a monthly premium to establish and maintain eligibility.

Unlike Medical Assistance (MA), there are no bases of eligibility for MCRE. However, certain characteristics such as pregnancy, age, and household composition may determine eligibility requirements and benefits.

Enrollees are also assigned to one of four eligibility groups. Group status mainly affects insurance barrier requirements and covered services.
