This manual section explains how to count payments from the following public assistance programs:
l Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP).
l General Assistance (GA).
l Minnesota Supplemental Aid (MSA).
l Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA).
l Diversionary Work Program (DWP).
l Work Benefit Program (WB).
l IV-E and State-Subsidized Adoption Assistance.
l Foster Care Assistance. This includes:
n Federally funded foster care (IV-E) payments.
n Non-IV-E foster care payments.
n Adult foster care payments.
n Other payments for the care of foster children or adults who live in the household.
l Relative Custody Assistance.
l Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Elder Supplement Assistance Program. This program makes payments to elderly tribal members who meet the program's income and asset limits.

MA Method A, MA Method B, MA-EPD, and Medicare Savings Programs.
Count as unearned income payments from the following programs:
l MFIP
l DWP
l WB
l GA
l MSA
l RCA
l Foster Care Assistance (if the payments are for children included in the foster parent’s MinnesotaCare household).
Exclude from income payments from the following programs:
l IV-E and State-Subsidized Adoption Assistance
l Foster Care Assistance (if the payments are for children not included in the foster parent’s MinnesotaCare household).
l Relative Custody Assistance
l Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Elder Supplement Assistance Program.
