Archived: March 1, 2007 |
The Minnesota Family Planning Program (MFPP) is a Minnesota Health Care Program (MHCP) demonstration project to determine if access to pre-pregnancy family planning services will reduce the number of births from unintended pregnancies. People who are not enrolled in other MHCP coverage may be eligible for family planning services through this program.
County agencies, tribal agencies, and MinnesotaCare Operations are not processing MFPP applications at this time. However, agencies should be familiar with the MFPP and how it may impact other MHCP eligibility. Health care program workers should:
l Refer questions about the MFPP to the DHS Family Planning Unit at 651-431-3480 or 888-702-9968.
l Provide the Minnesota Family Planning Program Application (DHS-4740) upon request.
l Forward completed MFPP applications to:
Minnesota Department of Human Services.
P.O. Box 64960.
St. Paul, MN 55164-0960.
l Coordinate coverage between the MFPP and other health care programs as necessary. For information about coordinating coverage (and program eligibility), see Bulletin #06-21-07, DHS Implements the Minnesota Family Planning Program.
l Account for administrative activities or directly billable activities associated with the MFPP within existing time studies. Code time related to the MFPP as you would for any other MA service or program.
For program information in addition to the bulletin noted above, see the MFPP overview on the DHS web site.
