All of the health care programs require that applications be processed as soon as possible, and within a certain number of days from the date of application.
Processing standards are the maximum time period allowed to process an application. The processing time is different depending on the program and/or the circumstances.
Note: The processing period should not be treated as a waiting period before beginning to process an application. Applications should be processed as soon as possible.
Applications must be entered into the appropriate system within two working days of receiving the application.
Note: There is no exception, even if the county receiving the application is not the county of residence. The application should be pended on MAXIS before it is transferred to another county.
The processing period standards are:
l MCRE: Process applications received at MCRE Operations or at a county MCRE enrollment site within 30 days of the date of application.
Exception: If the application was transferred from another county, the processing period begins from the date the application is received at the enrollment site.
l MA: Process applications received at the county agency within the following number of days from the date of application:
Exception: If the application was transferred from another county or MCRE Operations, allow the processing period to begin from the date the application was received at the new county location.
n 15 days for a pregnant woman.
n 60 days for people whose eligibility is based on disability.
n 45 days for all other applicants.
l GAMC: Process applications received at the county agency within 45 days. It is 45 days from the date of an application received at the county or 45 days from the date a transferred application is received.
