SAPSNF is an acronym for the Statewide Average Payment for Skilled Nursing Facility care.
l This is the average amount paid by MA/GAMC on a monthly basis for a person in a long-term care facility (LTCF).
l There are two different SAPSNF rates: one for MA and one for GAMC.
l The SAPSNF is used when determining a transfer penalty for either MA or GAMC.
Note: The transfer penalty affects MA Payment of Long-Term Care (LTC) Services or GAMC eligibility.
l This chart provides the monthly SAPSNF amounts for each program based on effective dates.
