This manual letter lists new and revised material for the Health Care Programs Manual. Unless otherwise noted, new and revised instructions are effective June 1, 2011.
This manual letter includes updated information regarding vocational rehabilitation payments that was incorporated into a new section. This manual letter also includes added information regarding charges that cannot be allowed as a medical deduction in determining income for Long-Term Care eligibility.
Manual Letter 43 also incorporates sections of Bulletin #11-21-02, “Implementation of Medical Assistance for Adults Without Children Effective March 1, 2011” that announced the end of the General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) program. All remaining references to GAMC in the Health Care Programs Manual were removed and archived. Please note that other sections of #11-21-02 that describe eligibility for the Medical Assistance for Adults Without Children program have not been incorporated. For the most current policy information regarding the Medical Assistance for Adults Without Children program, continue to reference #11-21-02.
