The federal poverty guidelines (FPG) are issued by the federal Department of Health and Human Services. Use These guidelines to determine income eligibility for Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP).
75 Percent of FPG
75% FPG is the maximum income allowed for MA Method B spenddown standard.
100 Percent of FPG
100% FPG is the maximum income allowed for the following:
l MA Method B clients who do not have a spenddown.
l Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB).
120 Percent of FPG
120% FPG is the maximum income allowed for Service Limited Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB). Income for SLMB must be greater than 100% FPG except for months before QMB is approved.
133 Percent of FPG
133% FPG is the maximum income allowed for MA Method A spenddown standard.
135 Percent of FPG
135% FPG is the maximum income allowed for Qualified Individuals (QI). Income for QI must be greater than 120% FPG.
185 Percent of FPG
185% FPG is the maximum income allowed during the second six-month period of Transition Year Medical Assistance (TYMA).
200 Percent of FPG
200% FPG is the maximum income allowed for the following:
l Qualified Working Disabled (QWD)
l Medicare Part B reimbursement for MA for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD).
l Minnesota Family Planning Program (MFPP)
